- How do I use the access keys?
Access Keys are essentially keyboard shortcuts on a web site that give a user quick and easy access to areas of a site. Depending on the type of operating system you have using the access keys will create different results:
- Windows based computer - Pressing 'ALT' and the access key will give focus to that specific link on the page. If you press return, you will then be taken to that page.
- Macintosh based computer - Pressing 'CTRL' and the access key will automatically send you to that specific page.
Note: Access keys are only currently supported by Internet Explorer. The AAATE portal has special access keys for the major areas of the site throughout most pages. Below is a listing of the access keys on the site. There are three different sets of access keys:Top of the page

- How do I use the screen reader with the Chat?
When in the Chat rooms, the display is continuously updated to show new messages exchanged between the chat participants. As this may cause some problems to the reading of the screen, it is recommended for users of screen readers to disable the automatic update of chat from myProfile page. When the 'Enable manual update in chat display' is selected from myProfile page a button labelled 'Update Chat' will appear on the chat. Every time you select this button the displayed contents of the chat will be cleared and the new messages will appear on the display.Top of the page
